Who we are
on the 8th April 2011 Voluntary Action South Leicestershire changed its constitutional and legal status to a charitable Company limited by Guarantee.
Voluntary Action South Leicestershire remains a Registered Charity and all activities, contracts, assets and liabilities of the previous Association have been transferred to the new charity. There will be no change to Voluntary Action South Leicestershire aims, policies or services.
Our registered company number is 7517828 and our Charity number is 1141274.
VASL promotes and develops voluntary and community action in the District of Harborough. VASL is the local voluntary and community infrastructure organisation in the area. Working with a range of partners we provide and deliver services working across a diverse range of areas.
A Board of Trustees manages VASL. The Board's members are elected at VASL’s Annual General Meetings from its local membership of voluntary and community groups. The Board also has some co-opted members.

Voluntary Action South Leicestershire provides a range of services in the Harborough District and the wider area of Leicestershire.
In July 2011 we successfully bid and won the tender to deliver Carers Support and information across the whole of Leicestershire. Our other services include community transport, befriending for older people, and Funds & Figures - providing funding and financial advice to voluntary and community groups in the districts of Harborough and Melton.
Voluntary Action South Leicestershire services provide a focus for local people to engage in volunteering to support local needs and local communities.
Voluntary Action South Leicestershire works in partnership with, Voluntary Action Leicestershire to provide people with wider volunteering opportunities and, to support and develop voluntary and community organisations.
Voluntary Action South Leicestershire works with our voluntary sector partners and statutory agencies to be of influence in the spheres of local government, health and wellbeing, policing and community safety.
We are also committed to Leicestershire Together. We aim to form strong relationships with people, neighborhoods and communities with the intention of improving the quality of life in Harborough District.
