V is the new £75m national youth volunteering programme aiming to inspire more young people aged 16-25 to get positively involved in their community.

The vinvolved team for Leicestershire & Rutland, supported by nearly £600,000 funding from v until March 2011, is working to:

• Raise awareness about youth volunteering.
• Offer young volunteers v certificates and recognition for their involvement.
• Develop the quality and quantity of youth volunteering opportunities with groups, organisations, clubs and through partnerships.
• Promote youth volunteering opportunities and advertise them through national databases and through the work of our local 'Youth Volunteer Advisors'.
• Provide information, training, guidance and support regarding volunteering and the involvement of young volunteers.
• Foster youth-led action, particularly through our local 'Youth Action Teams - WARNING: BROKEN LINK'.

The vinvolved team for Leicestershire & Rutland is managed by 'Voluntary Action South Leicestershire' and supported by the 'LeicesterShire Volunteer Centres Network' and 'Leicester-Shire & Rutland Sport'.
